Smiles in the Snowfall

Last night as my family sat watching "Chopped" together, snow started bucketing down. We stared, mesmerized by the beauty that surrounded us. We went to the window, gazed straight up towards the sky, and pretended we were inside a snow globe. The girls were smiling and laughing and then announced that they wanted to touch the snow.

The next thing I knew, they had thrown their snow boots on and were out the door. Jumping, laughing, and dancing in their pajamas and boots (no sleeves, no pants), they happily caught snowflakes on their tongues. Luckily my camera was close by on the kitchen table and I was able to capture their bliss in thirty degree weather.

Watching my daughters lift their hands into the sky as the snow fell, I felt like a child again. My Aussie (not much snow is Australia) husband had a huge grin on his face as well as he hoisted my youngest onto his shoulders. It was a tiny moment of joy that I'll want to remember forever.
