I found this photo hanging on a bulletin board in my parents’ house and my jaw dropped. What an amazing coordination of pastels, I thought to myself. I know for a fact I was unhappy to have that pink bow in my hair and that denim bow on my jeans (classic look by the way), which explains my listless smile. I can’t really knock this photo though because it is beyond entertaining 25+ years later and my dad’s pose is classic. If this is your idea of a family photo, that’s awesome. Your family will look back at the photo years later and have a good laugh. I always make sure to get a classic photo of everyone looking at the camera to send along to grandma but my photographic style is very different.

I truly believe you are your most beautiful when you are your least perfect. Rather than trying to bribe your toddler with gummy bears to smile at the camera (my go-to move), I capture the shot of you and your toddler laughing together in the sand. Photographs are love notes and I want your family to look back on the images from our session together and feel the past, feel the love. I know for a fact that a photograph of your family laughing together on the beach will reveal more than one of you all in matching pastels trying to force out those awkward fake smiles. I would love the opportunity to tell your family’s story in a real and authentic way. Let’s talk!
