Capturing A Wild Spirit

In April of last year, my family and I took off on an adventure. We spent an entire year traveling throughout Australia and New Zealand with our two young daughters. It was the trip of a lifetime. Spending all that time together as a family and watching our girls develop into adventurous travelers at such a young age was magical.

I was thrilled to be able to capture on camera the transformation of my eldest daughter. Something about the beaches of Australia and the mountains of New Zealand unleashed her wild spirit. In no time, my timid girl who would famously only wear dresses was now running around in a t-shirt with bruised knees, climbing trees, riding her bike through skate parks, standing next to insane wildlife, and bathing in mud. I plan on making her an album including these photos. As she ages, I hope she’ll look back on these images and smile. My wish for her is that no matter what is going on externally, she never forgets her inner wild.
